Static Compactors Detail's

Fully developed, tried an trusted technology, long service life and sturdy, low maintenance construction are the outstanding features of Smart Waste  compactors.
Due to their high compaction force, the volume of the materials to be compacted will be
reduced considerably.
The compactors can be combined with containers suitable for all common lifting devices.

The compactor and container can be connected with each other by a coupling device
which is simple to handle.
The compactors are delivered with the appropriate parts or machines (e.g. shifting
devices, tipping devices, suction devices, weighing devices etc.), they can be adjusted to every kind of application.

FAQ for MP Static Compactor Range: Commercial FAQs & High-Throughput Specifications

The MP Static Range consists of heavy-duty, multi-purpose industrial stationary compactors engineered for high-volume commercial and industrial (C&I) waste applications. Anchored permanently to a structural concrete foundation on site, these systems couple with high-capacity detachable roll-on/roll-off (RoRo) containers. The MP series is built with enlarged volumetric charge boxes, reinforced wear-resistant floors, and linear hydraulic cylinders designed to process continuous packaging streams, bulky cardboard, and dry municipal refuse without jamming or structural fatigue.

The “MP” (Multi-Purpose) designation highlights versatile material handling and reinforced chassis engineering:

  • Extra-Large Feed Apertures: Generous charge box openings (typically 1.4 m to over 2.0 m in length) allow uncrushed cartons, bulky corrugate, and dry production waste to be fed directly without operator pre-shredding.
  • Aggressive Material Retention: Multi-tiered hardened steel claws line the chamber mouth to lock elastic materials like stretch wrap and springy cardboard inside the container, preventing decompression back into the charge box.
  • Fine-Grained Wear Steel Construction: The press floor and ram face are fabricated from wear-resistant fine-grain structural steel (such as Hardox or Bisalloy equivalents), protecting against abrasive wear and impacts from dense packaging.

Industrial electrical standard with low-noise motor dampeners

Operating under 35 to 50 tonnes of hydraulic pressure into structural RoRo receiver containers:

  • Compaction Ratio: Delivers 4:1 to 7:1 on corrugated paperboard and packaging, and up to 10:1 on soft packaging films and stretch wrap.
  • Haulage Reduction: Consolidates up to 8–10 loose skip loads into a single compacted container load, lowering truck movements by 75% to 85%.
  • Zero Disruption with Dual Containers: High-volume facilities can stage an empty receiver container on site. When the full bin is detached for transport, the empty one is coupled immediately, eliminating compactor downtime.

The MP Static Range handles a wide spectrum of non-liquid commercial and industrial materials:

  • Heavy Packaging Materials: Corrugated cardboard (OCC), packaging paper, and bulk pallet cartons.
  • Plastic Waste: Pallet stretch film, shrink wrap, soft plastics, and strapping bands.
  • Light Timber & Dunnage: Softwood slats, packaging crates, and broken shipping pallets.
  • General Dry Municipal & Industrial Waste: Mixed non-hazardous commercial refuse, factory floor packaging, and office waste.

To support high-throughput operations, the MP Static Range supports diverse loading configurations:

  • Conveyor Feeding Systems: Continuous in-feed belts from sorting stations, packaging lines, or mezzanine floors.
  • Automated Bin Tippers: Integrated hydraulic lifters designed for 120 L, 240 L, 660 L, and 1,100 L wheelie bins with interlocked safety cages.
  • Wall-Mounted Dock Chutes: Enclosed through-the-wall chutes allowing warehouse personnel to discard waste from inside the building without entering the truck dock.
  • Tipper Hoppers with Auto-Lids: Pneumatic or hydraulic lids that open during feeding and close to control dust and wind-blown debris.

The MP Static Range is engineered to comply with Australian Machine Safety Standard AS/NZS 4024:

  • Dual-Channel Safety Interlocks: Prevents machine cycling if hopper doors, maintenance panels, or bin lifter safety gates are open.
  • Container Coupling Proximity Sensors: Ensures the hydraulic ram cannot cycle unless the detachable container is clamped and aligned to the press mouth.
  • Emergency Stop Stations: Prominent mushroom E-stops located at the operator station, loading dock face, and optional remote-control panels.
  • Optical Safety Light Curtains: Infrared barriers that instantly halt hydraulic motion if an operator crosses the hopper loading threshold.

Because of the high horizontal thrust exerted during compaction:

  • Structural Concrete Foundation: A reinforced concrete slab (minimum 150 mm–200 mm depth, rated 32 MPa) capable of resisting anchor pull-out stresses.
  • Steel Docking Guide Rails: Heavy ground-mounted channel rails anchored to the slab to ensure transport trucks guide RoRo containers into alignment with the press head.
  • Electrical Infrastructure: A dedicated 400 V, 3-phase, 50 Hz power drop terminating in a weatherproof 32 A or 63 A lockable isolator switch adjacent to the power unit.

Preventative maintenance maintains high performance and reduces operational risk:

  • Wear Strip & Guide Shoe Checks: Inspecting bottom and lateral synthetic or brass wear guides to prevent metal-on-metal friction inside the press channel.
  • Hydraulic Fluid & Filter Care: Monitoring oil level and temperature, testing operating pressures, and replacing hydraulic return filters annually.
  • Fastener & Anchor Torque Verification: Periodically re-torquing structural anchor bolts and container clamp turnbuckles subjected to heavy cyclic vibration. Smart Waste Australia provides comprehensive scheduled service contracts, preventative inspections, and emergency repairs across Australia.
